ECTS COURSE CREDIT CERTIFICATE
The Education Quality Accreditation Commission offers hundreds of free education courses in a broad range of popular subject areas. With these courses you may earn European ECTS credits towards a degree. Studying a book on your own does not guarantee that the course learning outcomes have been met. In order to get a complete course credit certification you need to demonstrate that you have met the course learning outcomes. To do so you are required to submit a written report of a minimum of 15 pages about the selected subject book. The EQAC ECTS Accredited Course Certificate
ECTS credits are based on the workload students need in order to achieve expected learning outcomes. Learning outcomes describe what a learner is expected to know, understand and be able to do after successful completion of a process of learning. Workload indicates the time students typically need to complete all learning activities (such as lectures, seminars, projects, practical work, self-study and examinations) required to achieve the expected learning outcomes. The presentation of a 15 pages written report about one of the suggested subject textbooks (over 300 pages) is considered equivalent to 5 ECTS credits (130 hours of study work) according to the following workload.
ECTS Credits International Acceptance The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a tool which enables students to collect credits for learning achieved through higher education. ECTS aims to facilitate planning, delivery, evaluation, recognition and validation of qualifications and units of learning as well as student mobility. ECTS is widely used and recognized in higher education and can be applied to other lifelong learning activities where the EQF European Qualifications Framework is implemented or accepted. First you need to pick one free accredited course, check the suggested bibliography and select the most suitable subject textbook. Then you need to study the book and prepare a minimum of 15 pages written report based on the selected textbook. The EQAC study & evaluation tips will guide you in the preparation of this report. Once the report is completed you may submit it to the EQAC Secretary for evaluation and credit certification.
NOTE: We consider that presenting a 15 pages report about the subject is the best way to demonstrate the required learning outcomes. Other options may also be considered by the EQAC to issue an EQAC ECTS credit certificate. Contact the EQAC Secretary with your proposal. For any additional information concerning this procedure contact the EQAC Secretary.
